Re: Riding Gear
I use downhill mtb knee/shin pads everytime i ride now(due to bad leg) and whey work great, nice and light and fit into boots.
As for upper body, nothing in trials but wear an alpinestars pressure suit for stuntriding, its pretty comfy when you get it adjusted to fit right. Doesn't restrict too much ...

I run 80:1(GG 280) and haven't had any issues.
Would imagine your bike to be happy with about the same.

Re: Insurance for trials bikes
Neo,
Dont have anything on me, but they will be on the interweb.
Wesfarmers federation insurance(WFI)
Not too sure how you'd go with just the bike tho, they're a business insurance(mainly farming related) and we have the business as well as the house and stuff with them...
But its worth a try ...

Re: Insurance for trials bikes
Ive got mine covered for full comp(except when competing) so if it falls off the trailer its covered!
Thats with Wesfarmers and cost bugger all, 100 bux or something like that.
Part of a policy with the house, shed and all the other bikes too tho.

Re: Advice on power,help!!
You could try a thicker head gasket to lower the powerband and give it a bit more torque, easiest way though as said above would be to lower the gearing a couple of teeth...

Re: DIY TRIALS
That amazing mate!!
Great job...
Weight for most trials bikes is around the 70kg mark, so wou are pretty close..
I'd say its the suspension- you want it set up a fairly soft compared to most kinds of bikes... easier to hop and bounce around. and if you can adjust rebound, turn it up!
