Re: TY175 fuel tank - internal clean

Used Cole's Supermarket Double Strength White Vinegar on mine with a handful of mudguard washers -shook it around 2 or 3 times each day then emptied and filtered the vinegar every day with Scott towel over a funnel and refilled tank. Took the tap out and plugged it. Took about a week but very happy ...

Re: 1994 TY250Z Advise / help required

Pretty sure the rear brembo caliper on the TYZ is the same as the front one and is the same caliper as fitted on the front of the TYR Pinky- in which case you can get new piston and seal kit from tytrials.co.uk. - OR you could swap the front caliper onto the rear and then fit a 4pot braketec or AJP ...

Re: Gas Gas TXT Rookie 80 light fitment

Quite a few Japanese trail/enduro bikes run a 12V AC headlight eg XR Honda, WR Yamahas and also some KTMs and people using LEDs after some fiddling - LED will only run on DC - you may be able to use a bridge rectifier like one from jaycar using power from AC and then a capacitor to filter the power ...

Or Richard Allen

From memory the same AJP calipers / master cylinders were same as used on many bikes around 94/95 - eg Gas Gas JT25, Shercos etc. Morad rim used on many bikes of that era - just need the sealing band or run a tube.

Re: Tyres for Twinshocks.

I run D901 Tubeless on TY250 Mono standard rim, and also on Beta Rev 80 on standard rim. I found using a 450 tube instead of a 400 tube stopped it dropping off bead at low pressures around 4 psi.

Re: TY350 performance issues

I had a TY350s from brand new - great bike in its time. I left all jetting and flywheel standard but did fit a John Shirt rear muffler that made a big difference and let it breathe. You can't get new ones now, but you can get WES (long) or Nigel Birkett one for the 250 that will do the job. I ran ...
