What are the options to reduce the noise level of my TY 175? I live in a rural area and have good trials riding literally in my own back yard. However, I do not want to disturb my neigbors.

TY 175 C gear box capacity & Misc
Looking at the TY 175 B Service Manual download available on the net, says the gear box capacity is 650cc. However, the capacity marked on the cover near the fill hole appears to read "850cc". This could be an unclear stamp and/or my eyesight!!! What is the correct TY 175 "C" capacity?

What I meant by the term "upgrade" is finding a more modern carb that would work/fit on the stock 175. However, if I am reading your post correctly, I understand that the actual carb body may be hard to locate, but the "bit"s (slide, jets, etc) are available. Did I get that right ...

Got the new (old) bike home last night. Finally got it bum started (no kick start) today, pretty cold natured at first, first time on the pegs in about 30 years. Boy, was it fun!! Big, big grin!!
