Re: Engine case restoration
Correct Jools, mission complete. I use a rattle can from Supercheap, Dupli-Color Engine Enamel - Aluminium colour, 2 coats. Sanded back and scrubbed with Metho and used Dupli-Color Enamel Primer first. The Aluminium colour doesn't sound good but the finish isn't too bad and not a bad colour match ...

Re: TY250D - Brake pedal/stand mount clash
100% correct David.
I had a good look at the stand mount and although the weld job was that good it looked original it was in the wrong position. Grinder and welder fixed the problem and all good now.
Thanks for the heads up.
Now for a side stand !!!

Re: TY250D - Brake pedal/stand mount clash
There looks like plenty of meat on the front end of the stand mount. I might be able to trim it off with a grinder, just enough for the pedal to clear it.
Not sure if the new shocks fitted at the max length is an issue? I saw a set on e-bay with a 320mm eye to eye measure, not gas but don't plan on ...

Re: TY250D - Brake pedal/stand mount clash
Thanks for the response guys,
David, the shock length is 345mm centre to centre, BETOR gas shocks.
Greg, The cable arm looks OK and it does not hit the mount, only the rear of the brake pedal where the bolt is.
It does not look exactly 90 degrees so I might try and give it a tweak with a long bar ...

Engine case restoration
Hi guys,
I am starting to tidy up my TY250D and would like to get some advice on treatment or painting engine cases and covers to keep them close to the original finish.
