TY 175 Finished...in Mexico (of all places)
I have been neglecting this forum for a while. Below are some pictures of my TY 175 which I have finally finished after a year of part time effort. There are still things to do...fork seals to be mounted...a new Dunlop trials tire for the front...side case covers to be polished or painted, etc...I ...

Re: TLR Clean-Up
The TLR project that I started about seven months ago is finally finished. Delays caused by a significant hurricane and some very hot and humid weather not withstanding, it is ready to go. I went for a short ride yesterday just to confirm that I can re-assemble a motorcycle...Surprise!...Surprise ...

Re: Hello from Mexico-TY 175 Project
Another up-date from Mexico. We are starting to get close now. The paint and decals are on, and I found the time yesterday to put the chassis together. Mainly I wanted to see what it would look like with the new paint scheme and the alloy fenders. I have to confess, I am very happy. I wonder if ...

Re: TLR Clean-Up
Thanks for the suggestions guys....The best solution would have been to strip the frame with the engine in place...but I'm not bright enough to work that out...I did come up with a solution for the swing arm, rear wheel and shocks...some car stands went neatly under the foot pegs and supported the ...

TLR Clean-Up
This clean-up/re-build is associated with my TY which is getting a more comprehensive going over. This project is primarily cosmetic. The TLR is basically in pretty good shape. It is just filthy dirty and needs some paint. What I want to do is stop the corrosion associated with my salty environment ...

Re: Hello from Mexico-TY 175 Project
This is just an up-date on the Mexican TY. Painting has begun. In a short time we will have a finished bike. Better pictures and commentary on my blog

Just an up-date from Old Mexico. I had a chance to do a trial fit of the WES exhaust system. I went pretty well primarily because I can bash any required clearance into the system. The alloy is strong and reasonably easy to "adjust"

Mikuni Conversion for Bultaco

I recently picked up one of the smaller Bultacos...a Campera. It came with an Amal carburetor which was almost fifty years old and did a very poor job of mixing fuel and air. Finding a replacement was not any particular challenge if you know where to look. Basically there is an ...

Re: Hello from Mexico-TY 175 Project
Since my last post things have been happening. I know that you guys are having your winter whereas those of us in tropical Mexico are having an especially hot and humid summer. Today when I got up it was 87 degrees inside and 95 degrees outside...now it is 110 degrees outside and 100 degrees in my ...
