Gas gas txt250 07 hard start
Hey all,
I just bought an 07 txt250. She’s a bit hard to start and just wanted to get some general opinions on whether this is standard before I start pulling apart.
Also wanted to check the idle and mixture screw settings.
It’s got a dellorto phbl26bs carb, does have good spark even though I ...

Sherco 320 power
Hi all, looking to buy a a Sherco 320 but being a novice I've hear the 4t power is an issue. I'm after suggestions to smooth the power, I'm thinking larger rear sprocket, slow twist throttle and maybe exhaust restrictor.
Any suggestions or should I just buy a 250???
Thanks

017B4C9B-5F6E-4FE6-AF81-DAD673E5204C.jpeg I can 100% confirm that an impact socket on a 1/2inch rattle gun has only helped me start the rounding process so I can start drilling out the nuts!!
This is fighting me all the way, reminds me of an old girlfriend but meaner.

Re: Monty 247 cylinder removal
Ok tried everything now, absolutely no movement from any head bolt. Tried brass drift, heat, numerous penetration oils, impact driver, rattle gun.
I’m going to outsource the problem.
Any got any good small engine specialist north side of Brisbane?

Re: Monty 247 cylinder removal
It’s killing me this thing, so far I’ve soaked in wd40 for the last 4 days. I’ve got a 7mm hex with breaker bar, no joy, impact driver on 7mm hex, no joy.
I’m thinking my next option is poor petrol on it and light a match.
Thanks for the feedback though,it has been helpful.
Dumb question it isn’t ...

Re: Monty 247 cylinder removal
Oh excellent thanks, now I see them and now they appear seized. I can’t budge them for love nor money. I’ve sprayed some wd40 down so might see if this helps.

Monty 247 cylinder removal
Hi,
Novice question, restoring a Montesa 247, removed head and now trying to remove the cylinder. Having a little trouble, tried gently tapping and it hasn’t moved. Keen not to destroy it.
What’s the best way to remove the cylinder? I don’t want to remove the bore liner.
