Re: Which bike for learning?

Kem, don't waste your time with a 4 tricks if you want to start out in trials.
I'm sure the're great fun, but I can't imagine what they are useful for trials wise.

I think you'll find that all of the major brand bikes are reliable and low maintenance and easy to ride (though that one's pretty hard ...

Honestly, I think it should be specified in the MOMS before being used at a title event.
When people are travelling across the Tasman and Nullarbor and the like, to ride for sheep stations, it pays to be very specific about simple things like numbering gates and intended direction of travel ...

Despite trawling the internet for information on "enviromats", it appears that no specific product exists.

The specifications on the references I could find requested a non-porous ground sheet, and that a peice of carpet was not acceptable.
Something I read suggested that a blue tarp was good ...

Congratulations to all who competed in this years event.
I'm looking forward to hearing a ride report from one or more of you.
Was it wet? Was it cold? Did you ever believe that you could hurt that much and still keep riding? Can you really keep up with cars on a trials bike? Will you do it again ...

Oz Rock 4x4's

Folks, I just stumbled upon this website for a 4x4 rock crawling event in Victoria in June, that might be of interest to our mob.
I see this as a fairly closely aligned sport to our own, sharing venues and courses, despite a different governing body (and more wheels).
Maybe one of our Geelong or ...

Towball carriers are great, I use mine (one of Phil's beauties) on the back of my Hilux when I've got my canopy on, and now that I've fitted a towbar to my Falcon I'd say it'll get a fair run there.

A couple of points:

I wouldn't want my bashplate bolted solid to the rack as in Austini's ...

This may be a stupid question, but have you cleaned the oil out the air box?

I would have thought that would be the likely culprit, when the bike has trouble on downhills.

I can't imagine why the float level adjustment would have changed from oil in the air intake tract - two separate parts of ...

press releases

Good job Kev, posting a report after each major event.

I reckon it'd be good to see a summary of each expert's ride.

It gives those of us not present, a bit of an idea of how the event actually went.

It was pretty entertaining last year when I was following the World Rounds around Europe ...

Just to confirm,
My trivent has a little E9 tag on it just like the ordinary NZI helmets, which is good enough for the FIM as PA says, but don't go buying one 'cos I like mine being the only one around.
(takes the focus off my riding...)

Right on the mark scorps, I reckon the the dunlops have awsome traction - better than the Michis by far - and at a better price.

Unlike you, I won't even ride a new bike with michis on any more, I swap em straight away.

The IRC's are pretty good for the average rider. I find them a bit stiff ...
