i was having similar issues with my ty too. i run a 12/52. have learned better clutch control now. however, would like to know where you are getting a 11t made up and how it goes.

i also had mine in a trial at weekend. did ok for starters, but did last 2 laps with no clutch (snapped cable). i wouldn't care but it was all good and lighter than normal after some lube.

the clutch isnt self engaging (pulling harder on the lever), and i checked the basket fingers for wear recently when doing the crank seals. i might try the 3 or 4 spring idea, but if your trying out your 3 spring mod again at a trial please let me know how it went.
