Re: SURVIVORS OF COOTAMUNDRA 3 DAY TRIALS
Hey Squat, commiserations but these are the stories of woe that are all too common, but interesting to read. Anyone who rode Cootamundra mountain 'The Beast' and had no problems was not really there. Didn't matter whether you were C or A grader, you left skin, metal or fibreglass behind. On a sunny ...

Put your name here if you rode there. Just reminiscing with Tim English, lol. Love to share tales of survival.

Re: Basket Cases
Thanks Chippy, that poster brings back memories.
WOW, Dunlop trials boots! Steel tow cap gumbies and garden gloves were the style of the day. How about the cool Yamaha overalls, NOT!
Note the rubber bashplate to replace the original TY250A fibreglass one that lasted about 5 mins on Aussie rocks ...

Re: WHERE ARE THE GREAT TRIALS RIDERS OF THE 70'S NOW?
Hi Shaun
I can't spread any gos about Ian Gaff as he was a quiet gentleman of the trials sport. I started in 1968 and by that stage Ian had already won 2 Aussie Championships and he was immediately my hero. He had a style of riding that looked like he wasn't even trying. We used to think his feet ...

Re: Trial at Heathcote, circa 1969
Hi guys
I can name some of them, but do recognise all the faces - this is 40 years later you know:
1-4 Ian Gaff, Victoria, 3 times Aussie Champion and the guy whose style I tried to copy
5 Peter Paice, but this would have been 1970 because that's when I started riding new Bultaco
6&7 Recognise ...

Re: HELLO FROM A FRENCH
G'day from Australia
You and your wife look like you are having great fun on your sidecar.
I rode a TY250 Yamaha modified to 360 with specs from Mick Andrews and homemade sidecar back in the '70s. I still have it now. I drag it out of the shed a couple of times per year for fun with the family. I ...

Re: DVD of Twinshock class at 2000 Aussie Titles
Hi Ross
Yes, now that I take a closer look, it is Barry. It is the greatest impersonation of a trials rider ever perpetrated. You were obviously Barry's hero, and I can understand him trying to copy you. There were times I wished I had copied you too!
All these years I thought it was a great photo ...

Hi Ross
Came across a photo of you from 1982 on an Italjet test day. For those of you who never saw Ross ride in his prime, this is typical of his style. He could make a bike dance.

Re: Suzuki RL250 photos from the 1970s
Back in 1976 I was approached by Suzuki and had a meeting in Sydney with Gen. Manager and Rep. from Japan. They wanted to do a RL250 similar to the Beamish Suzuki sold in G.B. It was to be called the PAICE RL250 and I would be paid for each bike they sold. Unfortunately this was less than Yamaha ...

Hi Ross
Just watched Davids DVD. I can't believe you let you're dopey brother start the Trial for you. It looked like the Ross Grimsey I remember once you took over. Are you still riding?
Cheers
