Re: Basket Cases
David, looks to me like the chain tensioner could only influece the brake pedal if the tensioner sleeve is seized to the shaft. The brake pedal must be held up by cable adjustment and the spring on the brake backing plate. What sort of bike ? Looks like the full width shaft is to accomadate either a ...

Re: Basket Cases
Getting excited now, just hit it with the high pressure cleaner and a bit of truck wash and it looks heaps better already except that all the remaining black paint has gone. The frame looks pretty good as i had it and the rear springs powder coated about 20 years ago. Off down to super cheap (nice ...

Re: Basket Cases
Yes chippy, The Avon Mudplugger was a 3 ply Trials universal which whilst apparently a great short circuit tyre, was a pretty ordinary Trials tyre. The ones i used were specials flown in from England and were 2 ply they were pretty good. I remember i couldnt stock up on them because they had to be ...

Re: Basket Cases
Yes Rod my one and only Ossa, never went to Scottish, just seemed like a cool thing to say at the time . I did get a haircut ! The only bike i had which was worse was a Montesa 349 White one, which was just horrendous, the unpredictable stalling made the Ossa seem like silk ! Had it back to Ryans of ...

RE newspaper article on page 48, i can still vividly recall the please explain letter i recieved from Sport and Road a few days later ! I never really came to grips with the Ossa it just didn't seem to suit my style of riding, The Bultaco seemed to put a lot more of your weight on your hands and i ...

Re: 1983 Italjet
The Italjet 350T was a great bike and had an undeserved bad reputation in Australia , All the good points of a Sherpa, stable handling and good solid feel plus a lighter front end and slightly beter traction, i think the footpegs may have been set back a bit further. The brakes were also an ...
