Re: Show us a picture of your Twinshock

Here are 5 of my twin-shock bikes, only have the two twin shock trials bikes at the moment though, KT250A2 and 320TL. There are 6 bikes in the pic but one is a full floater, so don't count!!

Re: KT250 resto...help appreciated

I got lazy Ross and just drilled the new guard to fit the original centre bracket that holds the brake adjuster.

Its got just a little bit of flex in the guard but it works just fine.

The after-market guard isn't quite as wide as the original guard.

My original guards are quite good so I will get ...

Re: KT250 resto...help appreciated

It looks pretty good in the flesh.

I was pleasantly surprised when it started 2nd kick and sat there idling away like a bought one.

New crankcase seals and a carby kit have freshened it up a bit(top end was new anyway)

Once I bled the autolube pump I took it for a ride and its surprisingly punchy ...

Re: KT250 resto...help appreciated

Just about finished.

Decided not to go with the Kawasaki green/white for the time being, I am running out of time to get it semi-sorted before CD8.

And after all, the bike has to share the shed with quite a few yellow-ish bikes........

Re: KT250 resto...help appreciated

Thanks again David, much appreciate the advice.

As I am running a 520 chain/sprocket setup with the shocks in the conventional position, I will have to run a 2-3mm spacer top and bottom on the lh side to give me the clearance on the chain I like to have.

Brake side isn't an issue but I haven't ...

Re: KT250 resto...help appreciated

Okay, thanks David.

I know the Falcon's on my SWM have to be inverted and as I said I was not sure about the Betor's.

I tried Googling the damn things with no luck so went through some of the gallery pics on here and I would say 90% of the bikes with these Betors have them inverted.

Will it make ...

Re: KT250 resto...help appreciated

Time for an update on the KT resto.

I had not touched it since February and have got stuck in over the last couple of weeks. CD8 is coming fast and I want to take the KT up there with the SWM(and others).

Top-end had been rebuilt by the previous owner( 2nd oversize rebore etc) but he didn't do ...
