I had a similar problem with a Sherco 50 & it ended up being too lean a fuel mixture. the engine was getting too hot & the bike just stopping until it cooled down. The Beta 80 specs recommend 1.5% oil/fuel mix which is 150ml oil to 10 litres. maybe try mixing up a tank of fuel at that mix which is ...

Its just held in with tension between the piston & lever adjuster screw. One of these will do the trick

That is correct. Scorpa still had yamaha 2stroke engines in 2009 until they went into liquidation & were bought by sherco in late 2009 The 2010 scorpa 2stroke used the sherco motor.
