Re: Yet more TYZ 250 help needed

David, you're right. It is a bleed screw but it into the base of the impeller bowl.
I guess if I run it on pre-mix 50:1 and the oil pump works the only problem will be an oiled plug? The engine has been re-built with a new piston / ring kit plus bottom end, re-conditioned barrel and bearings in the ...

I guess that the oil is gravity fed to the engine driven pump then fed to the electric gizmo then metered to the carb and excess oil is pumped back up to the tank.

Is the oil added to the fuel / air mix by the venturi effect via that brass nozzle of the side of the carb ...

Re: Yet more TYZ 250 help needed

Hi David,
Definitely not chain oiler or James Bond gizmo! There is a resevior above the exhaust on the riders left side which feeds a small gear diven pump built into the water pump, this then feeds into a unit mounted below the shock (an oil return pipe comes of here as well) which in turn feeds ...

Yet more TYZ 250 help needed

Hi guys,
How does the oil injection work on these bikes?

I know they are gear driven from the waterpump drive but what does the rest of the gear do? Why is it wired into the loom?

Finally how do I check to see if is working correctly?

Thanks

Re: More TYZ help needed

Hi All, two more answers needed please. 1) What is the difference between the 4ML and the 4GG motors on the TYZ? 2) Are the front sprocket nuts all right hand thread?

Thanks

Re: More TYZ help needed

Thanks John, that's a great help. I will start measuring up tonight.
The barrel is being sent away early next week to be checked and honed (no plating I hope) then I will start re-building the following week. The sub frame and swing arm should be back from painting by then as well so I should be ...

Re: More TYZ help needed

Hi David / John, great brochure. Why would you want a road going trials bike? The tank is only 4.5l however the tank that came on my bike is about double the original. It looks like its going to be a great bike to learn on, not just riding but mechanics as well.

Thanks for your help with the manual ...

Re: More TYZ help needed

Hi Squat 405, thanks for the encouragement. The sub frame and swing arm are off tobe sprayed next week. Just looking forward to riding it now. I have been to the Hell site and downloded the parts list and the users manual but neither show things like torque settings, wear tolerances or servicing ...

Re: More TYZ help needed

Hi David, photo attached. The holes to the right are where the suspension was originally mounted. On a different subject, do you need to bleed the auto oiler when it is re-installed on the bike?

Cheers

Re: More TYZ help needed

Hi David, thanks for the info. I have already looked at the Hell Team site and copied the Scorpa stuff. This is my first attempt at taking an engine apart so its all new to me.

I note that there are two sets of suspension mounting points on the swing arm, I know they change the lever ratio on the ...
