Well David, you were spot on!! the flywheel was just sitting there with the nut and the 2 pieces of woodruff key in the bottom of the case. Phew what a relief!! The shaft, thread and the windings are all fine (checked under magnifier) so i reckon i will be riding again this weekend, yippie ...
