Problem solved. Turns out the clutch drain bolt is just long enough to bind on the gearchange mechanism if you use too thin a washer

Possibly. I just went to drain the oil, checked the shifter and it's freed up? Maybe something to do with engine heat?

Cota 247 gearshift

Hi all, I'm working through a few issues on a cota 247 that I've had in storage for a while. The latest is a stiff/non-returning gearshift. I'm going to pop the cover off and have a look, but thought I'd ask if there was a common issue I should be looking for?

Thanks mate, it looks like I'm sorted. I did look into the other options you mentioned and most of them had cush drive hubs.

Most, if not all of those parts are available through ebay and the like, and you'll save a motza over genuine. A lot of the aftermarket parts, like magura levers etc would be cheaper and better quality than original.
