nearly lost it... :-(

Postby keithj » Sat Nov 19, 2005 11:04 pm

I was on a roll tonight - successfully upgraded one piece of site software and then moved onto the next - the content management system that stores all the news articles.

About the time the supplied-upgrade script failed was about the time my heart took residence in my throat.

I tell you folks, at one stage it was looking pretty darn grim - no news database at all. That means, no news articles, no results, no newsletters, etc, etc, from all the years it's been running. Crap with a capital C.

Thank goodness my "she'll be right" attitude took a back seat to a suppressed "back the bloody thing up Keith" thought prior to starting the upgrade. Even that was a bit messy, but I got it all back OK.

Wont be touching THAT one again... ^()^

Now I gotta upgrade these forums again too... :-k might leave it a few days until my blood pressure settles back down.

Arrrrrrrgggggggggghhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I've lost that bloody "Yesterday/Today at..." mod again.

But the good news is that the forums upgrade worked, plus the attachments mod is (still) working.
EDIT: it sort of works.... if you guess where to put stuff in! Seems there's some text issues to iron out. Crap!

I'm going to quit while I'm ahead. Too many hours looking at code.
