Love will grow stronger,
Flowers will bloom brighter,
Birds will sing louder ,
Hearts will ache heavy,
He was a shining light to all that knew him.

He was a great friend to everybody that knew him and will be sadly missed by all and here in the byrne circle. Jason only knew him for a short time compared to most of us but was still shocked when I told him of Howard passing, saying what a great person he was to see at trials. Certainly will be missed for all his advice to anybody that asked for it. anyway no need to tell everybody here as you already know it. Well Howard say hello to my mate wally and have a great ride together least you have somebody to ride with. My next ride will be for you mate. The Byrne Family

My most vivid memory of Howard is him riding with his beloved Thomas the Tank Engine bum-bag. It always brought a smile to my face whenever he rode through the section I was observing on. Ironically, he misplaced it at about the same time he fell ill.

Our thoughts are with his family at this very difficult time.

Life brings tears, smiles and memories.
The tears dry, the smile fades,
Howard may be gone from our sight,
but never from our memories.

It's hard to know what to say except he shall be greatly missed.

It was with a heavy heart & great sadness that we said our last farewells to Howard on Monday. It seems to have been forever he has been a part of our lives in very many ways, Canberra is like that. Above all our friend, but also work colleague, fellow trials rider & cyclist, mechanic, confidant, adviser, brother. Even when he was struggling for breath & to be understood it was so good to spend time with him & Di. Cherished memories.
Howard, Di, Matthew & Dylon have all been so very brave, especially this last month. Our love, prayers & strength goes out to them during their grief. Please remember, grief can never turn to despair when there are others that care. And there are so many loving friends that have truely rallied for the Wallace Family, in their time of need, a champion effort for their champion friend.
We feeled blessed for having know Howard & been a part of his life.
Now, our dear friend, may the wind always be on your back & every section a clean.
Much love always,
Bev, Ross, Holly & Brooke xxxxx

Howard's passing leaves a big hole in the Canberra / NSW Trials community.
He was a complete gentleman, always happy to help & give advice freely.
Not to mention that "Thomas the Tank Engine" bum bag.
We'll miss ya Howie; say hi to Wally for us.

Our thoughts go out to Di & the kids.

I was never fortunate enough to know Howard well. But on the few occasions we spoke at comps, I was fortunate to experience his great character and the depth of his knowledge. Nikki idealised Howard. And I know she'll take this news badly. But I hope it will help her appreciate that life (just like a Trials bike) needs to be ridden for fun and the benefit of others too. And that’s how Howard came across to me. Always advising and always contributing…..with a smile that really revealed his kind heart.

My most vivid memory of Howard is seeing him ride up a very rocky hill, totally undefeated. It’s just a shame he had to be defeated by something like this. And in such a short amount of time. :(

Howard…May you ride the rocks and sections of heaven and enjoy every moment…..you truly deserved it. =D>

I guess there are many of us here who, like Neo, knew Howard the man a little, but knew of him a great deal. His help and guidance on all things mechanical, here and on Trials Central, is a thing of legend – he is, and will be greatly missed in the trails community around the world.

Similarly, it’s hard to comprehend the anguish his family must feel and my heart goes out to them at this most difficult of times, I only hope that they gain some little comfort from that fact that that he made a significant contribution and his passing is huge blow to many.

Bev, please pass on my sincerest regrets and best wishes to his nearest and dearest.
