kt 250 differences

Hello

I would like to know what the differences between a 1975 kt 250 and a 1976 kt250
as i was given one and i dont what year it is

is there a way to tell from both years?

Yes there is something with the frame and engine VIN that is definitive. I don't remember what it is right now.
The usual way to tell is the colour scheme. The 75 was a solid lime green with solid white bands. The 76 is a light metallic green and the white bands have thin white side stripes.
Just to complicate things there was also a short run of (100?) :kawasaki pre-production bikes that had quite a few differences to the 75 and 76 models.
The 75 and 76 are either the same or almost the same as each other apart from the colour schemes.
I'm sure people would love to see a photo

No major changes, just small stuff from what I can see from my parts manual for the '76 A2, note that only the numbered parts are different between '75 A and '76 A2. Also frame and engine numbers start with KT2 on my '76 A2.

I also seem to remember that the front brake lever on the backing plate was different between the 75 and the 76 models. Not sure why that point has stayed in my mind for this long though!

Hey Graham, other than gudgeon pin and bearing, the front hub seemed to be the most updated mechanical parts.
