YAMAHA TY 175/250 For sale or swap maybe?
Hi Everyone,
David, the guard on the TLM is parallel and I think the TY Mono ones are all wider at the front?
They even come in PINK
Sorry Mr Magenta
Nice bike Roger, I am curious how you worked out the manufacture date?
Shane, I think I Resemble your remark? Or is that Represent David?
Just sharing my latest acquisition :
These were never really my thing back in the day but I absolutely LOVE them now, Fork Gaiters that is. Just look at the job they do protecting the chrome!

a TY250A appeared from the ether
This TY250A recently appeared at my place thanks to a friend taking a punt.
It runs! The seller put a new fuel tap on it and gave it a go and off it went - amazing. The clutch even released.
First I'll post some Greg Harding style photos of the poor thing resting on the dirt (but without any chooks to comfort it) then I'll post a few detail photos and discuss some things about it.

Re: Basket Cases
There are a few things about the bike that tell me that it hasn't seen much rough stuff or crashing, which is pretty rare for a bike with this much patina.
The first is that the frame lug that the muffler mount is bolted to is cracked but hasn't broken off yet. Amazing

Re: Basket Cases
The next is that it still has the original shocks, which are very easy to bend. Yes they are fairly shagged but they are still there.

Re: Basket Cases
It still has the original genuine Yamaha-Stanley tail light on the original rear guard. I figure the owner was either very good at wheelies or didn't do wheelies

Re: Basket Cases
Most amazing for me was to see that the original sliding killswitch knob on the twistgrip hadn't been smashed off
