Hi all,
Recently 'got into' trials, and have been fettling my '77 TY250 aquisition, and, attended the final 2 Local club days for the year on it.
In the process of obtaining a '88 Monoshock also, so my partner can ride as well.
Searched google and the forums but could not really find an answer.
What is the deal with number plates? How do I organise a number plate for use at my first comp next year? Just wanted to be prepared .... No doubt I'll be in the 'Novice' white group, but wondered how people end up with fancy sign written number plates etc that i've seen at the club days.... ??

Re: Number / Name Plate?
You can purchase a few different style plates (basic rectangular, or the new X-Style) from Trials dealers like us. They zip tie around the fork legs. The Trick Bits ones have a perspex clear window, so you can just use a printer and slide the print behind the cover, or you can use pre printed adhesive letters (Officeworks), or get a signwriter to custom vinyl print you something.
TRICK BITS X-Shaped Boards
Standard rectangular boards.

Re: Number / Name Plate?
There are a few different front plate requirements depending on which club is running the trial and where in Australia you are going to be riding.
One club uses a member number instead of a name.
What you might be thinking of as "novice" may not be white background everywhere.
For example, depending on which club is running a trial I'm riding, some I would use white, some blue and one is yellow background.
If you say which trials or which club you are planning to ride with you might get some guidance on here.
