Trials bikes entering in Enduros?

Postby Stu » Mon Jan 07, 2008 9:59 pm

Can we enter our bikes in Enduros? What do we need to modify to ride in them?

Hi Stu,

I would ask for a seat. But that is obvious and not probably the answer you are looking for.

Sorry

Got seat, It's a '74 Ty250!
I want to have a go in closed Enduros just for the fun of it, but dont want to fork out for another bike. I reckon I could show some of the Enduro boys and girls up some of the hills!

I don't see why not, as long as the bike passes scruteneering and you enter in the correct class.
As far as i know, esp in a close course enduro you can ride whatever you want as long as it is safe.
I know a few guys who ride mx bikes in the odd enduro.
I guess it just depends which club is running the event..
Hope this helps.

Fuel tank should be ok. I have asked this because of an article in the latest ADB regarding the Blue Light Ride in Victoria and they had some pit bikes entered. So I thought why not enter in an Enduro with the TY. :D

Yep, I went in it on a dual sport DRZS, with 606 dunlops on so I could ride home after. There was a few pit bikes and old XR's, anything could get through with the right rider and a trials bike would do it with ease.

They set the loops for the beginner to average trail rider, with nothing too tricky. Heaps of stacks but mainly people from forgeting to switch the brain on before the bike or riding on adrenalin. A friend still has a sore wrist from corkscrewing his DR650 up a hill.

The first loop was 60km and the second loop was 55km. Fuel may be your only issue depending on the mileage your bike gets, but extra fuel should get you through.

As long as your bike is atleast rec reg'd, and not louder than about 90 db, and is safe enough to pass scrutineering you're sweet. Oh yeah and you will need a learners/license
