Hi all,
Currently living in Newtown/Sydney as it's close to my place of work in the CBD, I'm just getting into trials after partaking in a training course around 2 Sundays ago. One thing that has me stumped is where am I able to train that is somewhat local? My parents live down south, close to Wollongong, but I'm generally down there on weekends only. It would be nice to train during the weekdays, early mornings or later afternoon.
Any ideas?

Jml,
Wollongong MCC has a complex at Mt.Kembla, just south of Wollongong.
There is a few MX tracks, but we also have a small Trials park area with lots of Logs & Concrete tanks, as well as heaps & heaps of natural terrain for Trials.
The complex is open most Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays & Mondays.
You will need to join WMCC & pay a practice fee whenever you ride there.
WMCC run 6 Club trials a year.
I've been running these events for over 20 years for Wollongong Club.
Send me a PM if you want any more info.
Cheers,

If you were serious about this sport, you'd move away from the mung bean, freaked out café latte society your currently located in and get on to a block of land where the nearest trials section is your back yard.
If that doesn't take your fancy, or you simply couldn't be bothered to be ready to be fully consumed by trials, then fang around in your current back yard. Use youtube as your guide, there are plenty of movies on there showing the use of large structures such as houses, car ports and fences

Aside from the mostly tongue in cheek response I made earlier, what I have found is that with almost no space needed, you can practice balancing. Doing this with the engine running (only needs to be at idle) is apparently better but I often do this without it running.
I'm on acreage and on terrain similar to Pacific Park out at South Maroota, so I get to ride most weekends without having to waste time and trailer the bike somewhere, and have been able to do just what you are wanting to do in the summer evenings.

I recently signed up with the club and paid the membership. I will only be down south on the weekends, so I'll visit WMCC those days. I was actually down at the Kiama event on the 18th with my Father just having a closer look at the sport :) Was an awesome day , Very nice people and very keen to buy myself a bike and work on my fitness and technique drills.

Brutal honesty but true none the less. I've been toying with the idea of moving out west (away from hipsterville), trying to balance my commute to work and the drive out towards Penrith way. From what I can see it looks like most facilities don't have opening hours during the weekday, I might need to find some land around the west Sydney area to practise on. Possible training hours for me would be 6am-noon & 4pm-10pm, I think trying to find a property to ride on is going to be the best idea
