TY250 R (Pinky) Fuel problems

Postby Shawn James » Wed Aug 05, 2020 8:23 am

Hi all at the Brains trust, Ive reacenty taken pocessions of a Pinky, was very happy to take it out for its first day on the weekend, all was good untill after doing a few loops of a hill climb section and the engine started to "lean out' like a two stroke does when its running out of fuel.
It did have plenty of fuel.
It wasn't a hot day.
My question is, would doing the uphill sections cause this or is there another factor, its running a OKO flat slide carbie, all alse is factory.

Ideas???

Thanks All.
Shawn

As it happened after a couple o hill climbs I`d check the float height. The OKOs are fussy on the float height I have found. Make it level with the float bowl mounting surface with the carby upside down.

Carbon buildup, ever been decoked?...The float level on the OKO should be measured with carb upside down at about a 45 degree angle, 22mm.....I've got a pic here somewhere showing how..Let me find it
