Non destructive testing and engine part measuring

Postby RTR » Thu Nov 28, 2019 6:51 pm

I just bought a cheap engine with a stuffed top end from a broken valve. I want to get the crank, conrods and case tested for cracks and distortion before going to the expense of a rebuild. Anyone recommend where I can get this done in the Sydney region?

Any engine re builder can check for bent rods and crank and crack test same. I always get a crack test on an engine rebuild. The only time I've had cases tested they torqued them together and measured for bearing housing out of roundness with a inside micrometer. It was out of round so it was line bored. If they can do it in the central west it has to be easier down Sydney.
