TY250 A question

OK, bought another bucket of bolts, I think this is an A (has a steel tank and 250 on the LHS crankcase cover).

Can I ask a couple of dumb questions.....

(a) can anyone confirm what the frame number should be for an A
(b) this was reportedly running very recently. It still has the oil pump in place but if I wanted to premix some fuel what mix ratio should I start with?
(c) is there anyone who specialises in tank repairs in the south east qld corner (I am on the Gold Coast), the tank on this one has had a few hits and has been bogged over and painted badly.

Any help appreciated.

Tank repairs are expensive might be cheaper to find another tank.

It should start with 434

B model and later start with 493

Any help appreciated.

Thanks guys, bike was delivered this morning and it is an A.

One odd thing though is that the forks look collapsed, ie they are fluly compressed just with the bikes weight on them and wont move when I take weight off them.

When I have a closer look however there is an airline to the top of the forks with a t piece joining both forks and then a what looks like a car tyre valve plumbed into the T.

I have not seen anything like this before, did A's have an air shock arrangment is this this some weird arse aftermarket thing?

Shaun, that was a fairly common mod for the time. Everybody decided that air (assisted) forks were the best thing after sliced bread.

So would that explain the collapsed front forks?

I would have thought even with no oil in them the springs would keep them extended?

Dunno, maybe a previous owner decided that the springs weren't needed 'cause he had air forks.
