DIY TRIALS

Post by aquira »

hi guys, im from bali-indonesia

since theres no trials dealers here in bali, and because i really love this sport, i build my own trials, parts are from its original, and some are from other bikes, i try to make it as close as a montessa corta 4RT, it is based on 2 stroke suzuki Satria 120cc jet cooled,

after stripping all the plastics and cutting the sub frame, swap the front forks, it looks like this,

as you can see the rear shock hasnt got its holder yet, its just placed the with an iron stick

drilling for brake master.

DSC00297.JPG

getting all these together takes hours cos you have to carefully choose parts that wont break easily, interfere other parts movement, ease of use!, parts are from different bikes(the worst part of building your own bike)some are hand made... make them work properly is another thing #-o

despite all the troubles and hard works, we try to make a little fun

i guess i may say its done..but theres still a small bit of things to add, like chain tensioner engine skid and exhaust protector, but i may have to redesign the exhaust anyway.. so ill just wait till its 100%done..

thanks mate..

took a couple of month to get it shape like that..
this is the first time i touch a bike...again...after 10 years..

im not happy with the power..i hardly touch the engine
but tomorrow,
im gonna do some port job..and see the result
its a small engine..120cc..probably ended up with bore it up. :D

any way...i never see or touch any of those trials bike in reality..

whats the weight like when you pull the front tire up with one hand... kilos?or something?

i found it very hard to hop it.. #-o so heavy..
my bike is about 60 kilos

That amazing mate!!
Great job...

Weight for most trials bikes is around the 70kg mark, so wou are pretty close..
I'd say its the suspension- you want it set up a fairly soft compared to most kinds of bikes... easier to hop and bounce around. and if you can adjust rebound, turn it up!
