Insurance for trials bikes

Post by car.davies »

Has anyone got any info on the above subject. I tried to insure my bike for theft earlier this year, but came up with a snagg. My home contents does not cover it and I could not insure it for through normal road insurance. There must be a way to protect, what in some casescould be our very valuable items. Help or advice would be much apreciated.

Cheers

I have had the same problem. Was told by insurance company they could cover my shed for damage and the contents of shed for damage and loss. That included tools, mowers, brushcutter and old bits of furniture that are being stored but not the bike. When I asked for a way to cover it I was told they would have to check with the manager and ring me back. They never did. Have not looked into it as yet but I was wondering if Shannons insurance might be able to arrange cover. They advertise themselves as the company for motoring enthusiasts.

Trango,
Cheers, Shannons rings a bell actually. I'll give that a go and let you know how I went.

Shannons do insure the trials bikes. I'm about to tack the premium onto my annual car insurance. Easier that way! =D>

Ive got mine covered for full comp(except when competing) so if it falls off the trailer its covered!

Thats with Wesfarmers and cost bugger all, 100 bux or something like that.
Part of a policy with the house, shed and all the other bikes too tho.

Hi Yoda,

Do you have any contact details for Wesfarmers?

Neo,
Dont have anything on me, but they will be on the interweb.
Wesfarmers federation insurance(WFI)
Not too sure how you'd go with just the bike tho, they're a business insurance(mainly farming related) and we have the business as well as the house and stuff with them...

But its worth a try!
They're a LOT cheaper than most other places!
really good to deal with too

insuremyride.com.au

saw an advert for them on tv, saying they'll insure dirt bikes, road bikes, etc. might be worth a try..
