Please do come for a sticky

Brooweena is on each year at about the same time. Entry is on the day.
Options for finding out exactly when it is on next year are:
Send me a PM with your email address and I'll put you on the email list for twinshock/classic trials events including Brooweena
Keep watching trials.com.au

Here are directions for once you get to Brooweena township:
It is a tiny town and the trial is on a cattle property that adjoins the built up area on the Northern side of town. There are usually small signs directing the way to the event from the centre of town. First drive North past the timber mill, cross the train line, veer left at the museum/heritage building, climb the hill and then go past the school. Take the right fork and turn right into Noel's property at the bottom of the hill.
If you still have problems, just ask someone for Noel's place (where the bike ride is).

Here are directions for the town of Brooweena

Crow flight directions - Brooweena is approx 50km west of Maryborough and 30 km east of Biggenden.

Road directions:
If travelling from North of Gin Gin, turn west off Bruce Highway between Gin Gin and Childers to get to Biggenden then take the road that goes SE from Biggenden towards Gympie/Woolooga. At about 26km from Biggenden turn east towards Maryborough/Brooweena. Brooweena is approx 9km from the turn.

If travelling from the South of Maryborough, turn west off the Bruce highway towards Biggenden where the Bruce Highway bypasses Maryborough.

If you live between Gin Gin and Maryborough I'm sure you don't need directions from me.

Timing - riding starts 1300hrs Saturday and about 0800hrs Sunday

Camping OK Friday and Saturday nights

Howdy Y'all,

Good photos there David. Shows the mighty KT in some kind of fine form.

Big ups to David for the loan of the KT for me and the TY for dad. That TY is one beast of a twinshock machine.

Everyone in Qld should make the effort to be there next year, it was a great weekend.

Cheers,
Your friendly neighbourhood ScorpaMan,
Scorps

Whenever I watched Scorps riding on the KT last weekend he looked smooth as silk, but when I got home and looked at the photos on the big screen, I noticed a couple of the photos came out with Scorps looking like he was doing .....er.... mid-course corrections. The photos I've put in the gallery so far show people (including Scorps) looking very much in-control and cool.

Does anyone out there have an interest in seeing the gumby-looking shots too???

Howdy Y'all,

David, you have to prove to people that I don't always ride "silky smooth", as most people find hard to believe... :?

And like the old saying goes, it never happened unless you tell your mates. And I haven't told anyone I face planted on the last corner of the trial, and you don't have a photo to prove it....

Cheers,

Scorps

OOPS maybe I told everyone you face planted. See my post on your "Bike Wanted Ad"

To cover up my indiscretion I must mention that about twenty metres before Scorps, FACE PLANTED IT :P :P he spent a good thirty seconds wedged in a hole between four huge rocks. He held it together with balance and throttle control until the KT popped out. Absolutly beautifull to watch, brilliant, you can teach me that one as well.

I would like to thank Jeff Eckert and all those that helped with the organising of the Brooweena 2-day including the property owners and Donna for scoring. That was one of the most enjoyable events I've been to for quite a while. Looking forward to coming up again next year. Regards, Greg Bostock.

Good report on the Brooweena Trial David, I was going to compliment Wayne on his ride after I viewed the video that Pat took, but never got around to it. So I shall make ammends now and pass on my compliments initially to the organisers, and to Wayne on the massive improvement that we have seen in his riding this year. Well done Maryborough on both counts.
Hope to see you in Gladstone end of July.

Thank you all for your kind words. :D Good report as well David and thanks for the pictures on this site and the one you sent to home.

It was not until the competition that I was aware that my riding had improved. I feel so unskilled when I ride the same lines as Jeff and Steve on our practice days. I do at least four training sessions each week on my own at home as well. But Jeff Eckert, Steve Hall and Ben Reed have been the people that have taught me the most. Jeff has taught me bike set up and some riding technique, Steve encourages me to push my bounderies and fixs/tunes my bike, Ben has shown me to open my legs bend the knees and drop my bum down beside the rear axel to execute what I call pivot turns. I still have many more things I want to learn. But it is good to know it is comming together for an old fellow (54 next month).

I just LOVE the sport of trials, the companionship/friendship, social interaction of the families and freely given assistance. :D :D :D
