Can someone please advise on the most suitable final drive gearing for both a TY 175C and a TY 250D ( To be ridden in Denman twinshock events )

I went and read my log books and yes you are spot-on Paul. My memory let me down.
I use 12/53 on my TY250 twinshocks, not 13/53.
The log books also told me that I am using 12/51 on my TY175. 12/51 gearing on a TY175 means that you will probably use either 1st or 2nd gears in sections. If you are a one gear person then 13/51 would be better. First gear with 12/51 is very good for tight, dry rock riding but a bit slow for bigger stuff.

I use 12/52 on all my TY175s and David is quite right.
The ratio is such that you look good in the tight stuff and can trickle up short banks but get it in loose stuff or on muddy banks you need the momentum and speed of the second gear or all you get is no speed and the engine reving right out.
