My TY250a at Wollongong Club. I've seen a couple of Montessa's and Bulto's as well trun up occassionally.

I finally got a chance to do the stats for our latest club trial. Who rides and what they ride varies a lot from trial to trial so I looked at one trial in detail.
Total riders 35
Riders who rode on Twinshock bikes that day - 9 riders (25%)
Twinshock bikes ridden that day:
TLR250
TLR200
KT250
RL250
Sherpa T M198A
TY175
TY175
TY175
TY80

Riders who rode modern bikes that day but sometimes ride on Twinshock bikes - 6 riders

There are about 60 riders in total who ride at least one of our club trials per year and attendance is usually between 25 and 40 riders at any given event. Of the 60 riders, there are some who have competed only on Twinshock bikes so far this year. They are:
Cedric Van Heerden
David Lahey
Tony Bax
Nicole Casey
Wayne Stark
Warren Stackman
John Flynn
Conor Flynn

I have noticed that when a Twinshock-themed or title event is coming up, the participation rate for Twinshock bikes in our club trials goes up - this is probably because the people who ride both modern and twinshock bikes want to use the competition riding as preparation for the Twinshock-themed event.
The popular Twinshock events for people in our club are:
Twinshock and Classic Masters at Conondale
Queensland Titles
Brooweena pre-80 Trial (run to no-stop rules)

Seeing Davids reply has prompted me also to vouch for twinshock numbers in a trial last weekend in WA :WA:
It was a dedicated Twinshock Challenge run by the Pathfinders Trials Club and attracted a field of 11 Twinshock bikes and 19 Modern bikes entered.

A top trial set by Leo Nolan with lines for twinshocks in C Grade and Clubman, and Novice lines.
As this was a dedicated trial set for twinshocks, it had more than the usual entries for twinshocks. Most of the twinshock riders would ride a modern 90% of the time throughout the year. It was a great attendance and I couldnt really put an exact equivalent past trial with as many twinshocks, but it could be 10 or more years back.

We used to have a series last year, but the number entering on twinshocks was 3 or less and up to 5-7 in recent years past, so on average at any given trial we run, twinshocks seen at a modern event would number 1 or 2 at the most.

Bikes entered last week were mainly TY175's (5), TLR250's (2), SWM T320 (1), TY250 (1), Bultaco 350 (1), Honda Special (1).
No retirements either, not without some problems on the day, but all got there in the end.
Some interesting trophies awarded at the end of the trial!!

I have also checked the results pages for numbers - seems WDTC is the only place it's happening in bris. Hope the numbers keep up.
I am wondering if people know that you can ride with a non-comp day license now - i think there would be a few out there interested in just getting thier bike out of the shed for a run without the commitment.

David, That bike is the Bultaco 350, (sorry not definitive of the exact model and year).
I am helmet less in the middle, otherwise with a full face MX helmet on I am anonymous!
