OSSA Re-birth

Post by BOGWHEEL »

(rough translation)
After several weeks of rumors, one the news that will fill of illusion to many enthusiastic veterans of the Spanish motorcycles, and especially to the followers of mark OSSA, indeed is of the resurgence the mark for the production of motorcycles. Two gerundenses industralists of the construction, Joan Gurt and Jordi Cuxart, bought the patent of the mark several years ago and now they have started up for the manufacture of which they will be the first OSSA of the 21st century. Apparently the first motorcycle that will be realised will be an exact retort of one of the most famous models of the mark, the SEA (Mick Andrews Retort) in his first version, 250cc with which the mythical Andrews overcame the championships of Europe of 1971 and 1972, before it happened to the category of championship of the world. This will be solely a probably limited edition collection piece, that it will serve to revive and to recall the best times of the Catalan mark. Thus, the famous clover of 4 leaves that with pride took a walk by highways and mountains will be able to return to revivir almost 30 years later
But most interesting it will arrive later, and it will be the manufacture of a modern trialera, of whose development Josep Serra is being in charge to the engineer " Xiu" along with Jordi Puigevall, that at the time worked for Gas Gas. The commercialization of the future OSSA is predicted for 2011 but before it could make debut already in competition. The main premise of its development was to realise the motorcycle of lighter trial of the world, lowering of the 60 kilos, although with the restrictions of minimum weight that finish being released east year in the regulation of the National of Trial, equal is not possible.
