This "massive" licence reduction for the kids is laughable really, I don't recall MA making the same song and dance announcement when they put it up to $170 and where the dickens did they pull that figure from in the first place, they didn't seem too concerned about encouraging kids then. Mototrials licence fees are an absolute joke for what MA/MQ give us in return and its no wonder that clubs like SQTA are being formed to assist and encourage new and old riders with an affordable organisation. Could it be that MA are starting to get the message that the trials community are not happy with them. Cheers Twinshock

Nice thought, but a snowballs chance in hell of happening, the alternative is to get more organisations like SQTA in all States or keep paying our $175.00 to maintain the MA profit margins !!!
Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't this just a wolf dressed up in sheeps clothing and can someone explain to me how this is actually meant to encourage new riders into the sport? I can just hear the kids out there saying to their parents, gee thanks Dad, I get to compete all year "non competitively", excellent!!!! Speaking from experience, if my 10 & 13 year olds were given that option they'd be jumping out of their Novogar's......back into their soccer boots or tennis shoes! As every parent out there knows the motivation a child has for competing is for the recognition and the possibility of winning trophies, no mater how big or small, and MA have missed the mark here in my opinion. It's the older long time rider that they should be targeting with these incentives, not the first timers, but I guess that they have done their cost projections and know exactly what the reaction to that would have been, if you get my drift? The way I see it is, new riders, being young or old, will have one or two goes using the existing Rec License and then, if converted, want in, boots and all, not want to be forced to ride all year with no reward, it's counter productive. Anyway, to give credit where it is due, at least your governing body is starting to think outside the square and I'd like to think that just maybe SQTA is starting to have its presence felt!
Regarding the Junior Restricted licences, they are full national competition licences, but restricted to Moto Trials, Mini Moto and Fast 50 disciplines. A JRN licence holder can compete in any MA affiliated event in the country.
The "Mini licence" announced appears to allow participation in minikhana events, which I assume were considered to be competition events prior to this, and therefore requiring a competition licence.
They are the same cost, however the rider must complete a Kick Start program prior to getting a JRN licence. Regards
This price drop for Junior restricted licences happened a while ago. I did mine & my son'd renewal back in March & Jarad's was only $70 odd. MA just didn't bother to tell anyone. I just got a smaller charge on my Visa card than I was expecting. Made me happy !!!!!!!
Now we just need more kids to bolster the Junior ranks.
