Re: Help with TY250 Registration
I had a TY175 registered years ago with the number plate RY175. Use to do the registrations for a dealer I worked for and saw that it was coming up so I got the bike registered.

I am about to get my RL250 blue slipped in NSW. I have been talking to the RTA techos and some shops that do blue slips. I found a key thing is that you need to find a shop that (a) does blue slips and, (b) will give a crap when you rock up with an old bike. If they don't know about old bikes and don't care you'll probably have buckleys.
My RL250 has a switch for the front brake lever but not the back. I am sure I can get it blue slipped like that because where's no provision for a rear lever switch AND the rules don't specify that you need two switches. You just need a switch on the MAIN brake which would assumingly be the front brake.
My RL hasn't been registered in the last long while. It has most of the original light gear, etc. I aksed the question, "How do I prove that it was once registered?" and I can't. The best I can do it make it road worthy as per pre 1976 standards and get it done. But, my mud guard has holes in it where a number plate once was so that me be enough proof.
Is it time to ride yet?

Re: Help with TY250 Registration
Here's the relevant info from the RTA:
http://www.rta.nsw.gov.au/registration/ ... v_2007.pdf
"...NOTE: If the vehicle does not qualify with any of the above requirements, registration may
be granted providing a letter of compliance is obtained for the vehicle and subject to approval
by the RTA’s Vehicle Standards Section."
see also the blurb on p5 of the document re. Letters of Compliance. Maybe Yamaha/Kawasaki/Suzuki/Honda would help out?
