TY250 B/C shocks

Post by scrivo »

Can anyone tell me the correct length of standard shocks (centre to centre) for a TY250B/C?

Is this the best length to install or are longer ones better?

OK Scrivo I just had a look in the shed and standard TY shocks are 315 mm centre to centre.
I use 340 mm Falcons and 350 mm Boges on my twinshock TY250s and find that with the standard setup at the front end of the bike, the steering works wonderfully. They would probably steer great with 315 mm shockies too, but the slightly longer shockies help with clearance under the motor.
I think if you went longer than 350 mm shockies with normal size sprockets, the chain rubbing on the swingarm cross tube might become a bit annoying.
