New Member Signing In..

Post by nevgriff64 »

Hi All..

New to the forum and would just like to introduce myself..

Names Neville and live in Melbourne.. 43 years of age and full time house duties.. Have a few bikes at the moment but sadly, none are trials worthy.. Thinking very hard about selling one of them and then working out which model would best suit.. I`ve always been fascinated with the skills of the riders and what the bikes are capable of but not knowing much else about the sport.. I`ve receintly joined the Oakleigh Motorcycle Club so i`m having my many questions answered there but i`m sure i`ll have a few more here before I commit to a purchase..

Looking forward to meeting some of you when the chance arrives..

Cheers Nev.

Welcome Nev, Your on the right track joining the club. Change over one of the other bikes to a used post 2K bike, 200cc or more, get hold of Ryan Young's DVD and your off. Wish I lived closer to Oakleigh, looks like a great venue. Cheers Kem

Hi Kembro..

Thanks for the welcome.. I have been thinking long and hard about selling one of the bikes and at this stage, the KTM 950 Adventure will more than likely be finding another home.. To sell that bike for another means it will have to be pretty special so maybe a 2010 Sherco 4 stroke.. I`ll make my way down to the local dealer and see what he has to say but doubt anything will happen for a month or two yet.. Then again, patience isn`t one of my strong points..

I`ll order one of those DVDs you recommended, I could use all the tips I can get..

Cheers

G`day Mick..

Thanks for those kind words mate..

I can thank/blame Autostream for all this.. I was happily unaware about the trials compound at Oakleigh until he brought it to my attention.. Can`t believe that i`m even contemplating selling one of the bikes but it looks like a heck of a lot of fun and can`t wait to join in in the madness..

Adv looks like it has settled down somewhat so i`ll be spreading my time between here and there.. So much new information here that will keep me busy for a while..

cheers mate..

Hi Auto..

I see you have well and truly solved the issues with the 290 mate.. Looking forward to putting it through its paces with a very gentle ride in the carpark..

I`ll catch up with you for a coffee some time this week and have a look at the new machine..

Spent my first day at the OMCC trials compound yesterday testing an 07 Sherco 290.. What an amazing bike they are and think it will suit my riding style nicely.. I`m sore as buggery at the moment and found new muscles that haven`t worked for many years.. Tried a few different things yesterday that were above my skill level but the bike made up for my inexperience.. Had an absolute ball and now very much looking forward to getting back down there again for more madness..

Its been a little over a year since I started this thread and a few changes have been made to the garage..

I ended up selling a KTM 950s Adventure which made way for an '07 Sherco 290, soon after this a new 09 Gas Gas 80 Cadet for our 8 year old son and just receintly, an '05 Gas Gas 80 for our daughter and soon to pick up an '07 Gas Gas 125 for the wife.. Was warned that Trials riding was addicitive and should have listened to these warnings..

Traded the Sherco 290 in this afternoon and picked up a Sherco Cabestany 300 to take its place.. Think I may have bitten off more than I can chew but will have some fun trying to tame it.. Looking forward to getting it dirty..

I should make sure I am there on Sunday with the camera to get some shots of the caby scaring the hell out of you.
