Expression of Interest of people interested in a 2 day open trial at Denman, June long weekend. Catering only to post classic and classic. Xpert, A, B, C, clubman and junior lines. We just want to know if there is enough interest .

Yes Gristy. Interest from me in riding in Twinshock (and it's only 14 hours from Gladstone)

Hi Gristy
With all due respect to the riders of the grades other than Twinshock and Classic why not test out the temperature of the water to organise an exclusive T/S and Classic two day trial.
It would save the organisers a heap of work setting sections and would give riders an event set up for the special needs of these older bikes (and riders).
I have suggested before that we should start looking at a Clubman and Expert level of Twinshock and Classic riders in the larger events such as State and National titles to encourage the less than average, unfit, old and decrepit, and those with replacement hips, knees and other body parts to have a go again.
Some of these oldies/spectators who witnessed some of the stuff at the Nationals would never sleep again if they thought they had to throw their beloved BSA / Cub / TY / Villiers at some horrendous 300mm giant step.
What does it matter if a winner of a T/S or Classic two day event only looses 2 marks and second place only looses 5, the point is that the average rider, who makes up the majority of the entry list, will go away loosing about 20/30 marks and will have thoroughly enjoyed his weekend and will come back for more.
I would support your efforts down there and bring my trusty Vibsa down as long as there is a "Show & Shine" for it to dazzle onlookers, :-)
Look forward to seeing some more responses as both are from Qld so far.
Cheers

Hey Twinshock, what's wrong with replacement hips, mine works just fine, after three years it's just run in  I would be keen to head up to Denman, was going to go this year but it turned to a practice trial, again Twinshock, I think Gristy is going to have classic and T'shock only with those grades he mentioned just for those bikes.
Sounds all too good to me, I'm in.

Hi Beech
Well my replacement hips only 20 months old, yours would be nearly worn out again by now, We could have a HRO class in Classic (Hip Replacement Oldie).
There are a couple of us up here plus a well known guy in Northern NSW who've been done so we could even call it a ParaTwinshock/Classic,,, are there any one armed trials riders ??
Seriously, for a full scale T/S, Classic two day event I'm sure several Qld guys would show up as long as it didn't clash with our state titles, the venue must have camping facilities tho'

Denman is Twinshock only club so all grades mentioned are suited to our bikes.Classic normally ride C grade lines but if you want to ride B or clubman thats up to you.You can lob up check the sections & choose what grade you want to ride for the weekend. The general idea of this event is to cater for every grade of rider & get people to drag the old bikes out of the shed.As for the practice days this year that wasnt our doing unfortunately having a trial for 20 odd years on that weekend doesnt count with a new Open event.
