Steve what about the people who saw the bits on your shelf late last year? Are we allowed to have go?

That would be an unfair advantage, lets see how others go first, if they are interested?

This is a TLR 250 that i bought of Mal Chapman a couple of years ago and then did a few things to it over a long 18 months or so and with a lot of R & D by Steve H and a bit buy me the Rothmans Honda was born.

It would be rude of me not to give a big thanks to Andy H. (who owns the front wheel and pulse generator) for lending them to me for the last.......mmmmm year or so. Sorry mate will have new rims laced up in the off season. And thanks to Steve H. for the idea in the first place. I am loving every bit of riding the Honda (Maybe with the excception of the front brake..... again sorry Andy, it realy could be better). Anyway thanks all, hope to see you in the sections soon.

Couldn't resist sharing these pics from the 70's. Note the choice of helmet, cap or nothing at all which they still do in closed circuit events in UK.
Also included a pic of my current square barrelled Tiger Cub with Mk 1 Concentric, specially for Tricub !!!

First outing for my TLR250 after twelve month (in between study and work!) restoration. Bike completed Sat noon, not even started before loading into back of Prado and driving down to Conondale Twinshock Trial. Bike rides and runs nicely although will need to see what effect 'straight through' exhaust will have! Will probably shed tears at first scratch, but oh well, did do it up to ride not put in a display case! "TLR250" decals are now on side covers.

Hi Wicko,

Great job on the resto, appears we have had a few things in common this past year; work, study and restoration of a TLR. Don't spose you wife is overdue (pregnant)?

Curious, what did you do to restore the fork bottles?

Again great job, bring on the four strokes.

Here are before and after photos of Drew's TLR.

It is good to see it finally ready to ride. I remember being very excited when he told me back in 2007 that he had bought a TLR250 and saw photos of it. For the next dozen or so trials I kept asking if the TLR was done yet. I eventually gave up pestering Drew and so was very surprised to see it turn up at Conondale last weekend with it looking so good - and I even got to have a try!

Hi Steve,

Thanks for reply, To the best of my knowledge, my wife is not overdue! Forks had new seals, super light weight oil, bottom tubes were paint stripped to remove laquer, had a few hours of fine wet sanding and then to the buffing wheel with aluminium polish. Left 'raw' afterwards so that future polishing not such a drama. Same for top and bottom clamps. I checked out your backyard practice sections...absolutely awesome!! Oh...and to david Lahey...my recollection was that you were a little disappointed that my first twinshock was a four stroke Honda and not a two stroke Yamaha!! Hopefully, I can appease that soon?

Regards, Drew
