The next RTC Inc Trial is at at Waterson's property, Chamberlain Road, Burua (between Gladstone and Calliope) tomorrow 1 May 2011

The sections have been set and the carpark is being mowed this afternoon.

I have been keen to set a section way up the creek near the dam for a while but there have been so many big logs blocking the way along the creek up near there thanks to the big wet season, another route was needed. Today Timothy Evans and I cleared a track through the bush from the car park to the top end of the creek and have set a very interesting section taking advantage of the supersoft sandbars and newly cut-away creek banks up there.

The other sections are new takes in areas previously ridden amongst the shade of the rainforest along the creek. The creek is still flowing above surface level and the water level is quite high in the billabongs especially the pool beside the stand of huge paperbarks in the middle of the creek. I reckon it would be quite nice for swimming and about 1.5 metres deep, so we didn't set a section there!

Anyway I had better go and get a bike ready
