KT 250 colour

Post by Bully fanatic »

Hello all. I am chasing a paint code for a KT Kawasaki. An Australian paint code would be good so I can goe to an automotive paint shop and buy 500 ml of acrylic lacquer. The year and make of car that matches would be great as I have one to paint and am having trouble matching the paint. The paint shop I deal with does not have colour chips like they all used to. Thank you. Graham.

Graham there are two different KT greens for the two models. One is solid green and one is metallic green. I don't think there is a car that is exactly right for either green but the latest Mazda 2 is pretty close for the metallic green. The easiest thing is to take a sample to a spraypainter and get paint mixed to match your sample. I can lend you sidecovers with original paint or you can get freshly painted samples from Fred and Deb KT parts in NZ.

Hello David. The paint supplier I use will only colour match if I buy two litres off them and I only need 500 ml of paint. Not many panel shops still use acrylic lacquer. I know the green metalic you mean but I don`t know of anyone who owns a Mazda with that colour. I might be able to find out off a Mazda dealer though. That might work. If I could get to use a tinting system it would take me about 2 minutes to eye match the colour. Thanks David. Graham. ps I have got a sidecover with the original paint on it.
