Hi everyone,
I have decided to pull my TL125 out of the shed and finally put it back together after about 15 yrs. Way back I had lots of fun riding it and decided to pull it down and refresh it. Started with the motor and got new top end and new valves seated etc and found that when putting it back together I had lots of movement in the cam bush area where the 2 piece head comes together. We had a friend that could sort it out n sent it off, i stripped the rest of the bike but ended up buying a house, moving out of home, getting into racing mx and freestyle n never got back to it till now. (the head is still missing at moment) I have absolutely NO road going parts at all.
I plan on doing a bit of a throw together so I get ride it to work mostly, only like 20 blocks down the road. We do have a CT125 head to get us by till we sort out the original. Most of the lights/guards etc are easy to find aftermarket but I'm stuck on the SPEEDO? Where on earth do i track down an original, or an aftermarket that would suit. Also the spokes are in really back nick, the original muffler I have is a little worse for where.
I actually have original side cover and air filter box. The tank is still original paint, and lucky we drained it dry before putting it away. Will need new twin shocks, some fork work.....
Any hints on where to any of these bits will be much appreciated. Would really like to get the old girl going again, seen as I now again see its vintage beauty!

You will be supprised at what you can find in new parts on Ebay. I recently rebuilt a TL125 myself and purchased, carby kit from canada, Air snorkel and element asia, seat and cover USA, gasket set from Japan, front guard from UK . I also noted spoke sets, rims and fork tubes all new listed.
Just keep searching Ebay.
I have a SL100 to rebuild also of which a lot of parts can be purchased for it also.

Thanks for the reply.
I have found pretty much everything on ebay or similar searches as you mentioned, but I am really stuck on the speedo?
Does anyone know if a CT XL CB would fit?

HI ,what is the axle size on the TL, I have 2 of the small Honda speedos with the short cable, I think the sender unit fits 13 or 14mm axle.

maybe you are using the wrong terminology when searching for a speedo on eBay. I seem to recall seeing new, but old-looking dirt bike speedos for sale a few days ago. Sorry I don't remember what search words I was using, but they are definitely out there (from Thailand I think?)
relax, nothing is under control

Hi Pop,
I currently have no speedo cable, so which bit in the hub do I measure to see what size it is?

HI David,
I am finding lots of speedos listed, but nothing that says it specifically suit the TL125.
I've been riding/racing bikes for 25 yrs, but nothing on the road or involving a speedo, so this is all new to me.
Are the cable ones all sort of similar or close to the same?

Hi, I meant the axle diameter, but I just googled the TL and realised these wont fit because the TL has the cable that fits in to the hub, the speedos that I have, have an" axle spacer type spining sender", but I did notice that there is a big TL specialist in the UK, looks like they have everything for the TLs.

Hi Pop,
I thought you meant the axle size, that is a great idea for speedo pickup, but outdated now i guess.
I think i found the american shop you are referring too, cmsnl ? Great exploded layout to help remember where all the bits go.
I might have tracked down a complete ct front end.....
Cheers.
