I also installed those bearing on my TY A ( 1974 in Canada ) and at first they look like your's so I punch the cup out and checked the "seat" of the cup to find paint and metal scrap, cleaned that and reinstalled the cup the problem was solved.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with the original bearings either..after all try getting the taper bearings out when they need replacing..Mr Yamaha knows best..
