Mick Andrews - Super 8 conversion

Post by TriCub »

Just had a friend here who has some home movies of Mick Andrews TY Yamaha demonstrations here in Australia. Only problem is that it's all on Super 8 film.
Does anyone have the gear to convert it to digital so we can all have a look?

Most Camera shops can do it pretty cheaply if you get stuck

I used a guy in Narangba recently to convert some old 70's movies - he did a great job with enhancement and colour correction. Approx 8 minutes cost me $65

Let me know if you want his contact details

The owner of the film was over this afternoon and he said it was a while since he looked at it but he could have it on a DVD already. He was going to dig it out and have a look.
Did a bit of research and apparently you can get quite good results by just using a video camera and recording it projected onto a good quality screen in a darkened room. Just have to wait and see how it turns out.

" quite good results " by comparison - roughly equivalent to hand painting a tank
