Post by wil15424 »

:D Hi Guy's I have a few more ??? to ask hope that's OK.
My TL is minus the spark arrestor/silencer & was wondering what others have used other than original ??
thoughts on using an after market air filter without the air box??
Also what fork oil & how much as I have read that Auto trans fluid is specified but was wondering if other oil is better??
thanks all lots to do & heaps of ??? hope I don't become a serial pest.
cheers

There are at last a few bike exhaust specialty shops opening up I guess in all the major cities and they are run by bike riders so they savvy our talk. Do a Google on AU only for "motor cycle exhaust shops" and see how you go for your area. If you hit a brick wall there is one in Moss St, Slacks Creek Brisbane. You will need to know the pipe outer diameter and preferred size as well as a maximum.
K&N make an excellent although expensive air filter from the U.S. with distributors in Australia of you might find something on EBay under air filters.
There is a 10 grade of fork oil but ATF is that grade and will not affect rubber or synthetic seals and is an excellent lubricant. Can't help with the volume but a Google might help with that.
Hope that is of help Wil Cheers.

Here is an economical muffler idea used by a friend. It sounds nice too. It is a muffler from a Briggs and Stratton 4 stroke lawnmower motor
Not sure but the air filter looks like a Unifilter pod filter

Hi & thanks for the replies bedouin & David I have gone with a unifilter as in the pic David and as for the muffler I am only missing the spark arrestor so I might chase up a bike exhaust place to bend up a small pipe & attach something from another bike.
cheers thanks again for the info it helps heaps.
