Mouldy Camels

Ever had the inside of your water back pack go black with mould?

My original back pack bladder went black with mould etc. I had to purchase a new liner. Now after every time I use it I drain the water out and then put it in the Freezer. Frozen water will not allow the mould to grow thus keeping it free of black mould.

Thanks for the handy tip, but did it ever occur to you it might be that Chateau Muddy Murray Murray you poor buggers have to drink over there????

The only water in the country you can sink your teeth into but if you leave your falsies in a glass overnight they just settle into the mud

I've noticed that my new "CamelBack" has some form of Anti-Bacterial plastic. Does this stuff work of is it just marketing BS?

try to get a copy of SIDE TRACK magazine#53 it has a good write up on cleaning your bladder
if you cannot get one i will copy it for you

Get some denture cleaning tablets and drop one into the full bladder and leave over night. Easy! just make sure you empty it and fill it with fresh water before next ride!

I tried the steradent tablets even though the insides of the camelbacks were ok. After a good wash out i couldnt detect a 'taste'...so i will use these from time to time. (PS. they cost $7 for a packet that will last long enough for me to use them on the real thing one day)
