Making a YZ250 into Trials bike??

Post by [email protected] »

After selling my Rev3 I have been left with my YZ250WR enduro bike to ride. I want to make it more trials orientated. Do you have any suggestions?

I know I am stuck with the weight and height, to an extent, but what else can I do. I am riding in the EnduroX (Gumbi media class) at the bike show this year and want to try to take it in a trial too so I would love some suggestions.

I can change the steering stops, changed reeds/rad valve for bottom end and re-jetted. I have avoided flywheel weight coz it kills power, but I do have the ADR bolt on stater that does the same thing.

To ride in a trial your going to need trials patten tyres $300 & change the sprockets and chain at least two teeth less on the front or six more on the back (ratio 3:1) $150. Even then clubclass would be the limit to the bikes ability and even then thats pushing it...... Spend another $300 and buy an old twinshock, it would be a lot less hassel.

The tyres and sprockets are lying around in my shed ready to go. I had a TY350 and I an still missing fillings from riding that.

Sounds like a challenge. When is the Mt Boulton round?
