Honda TLR Reflex lighting wiring removal

Post by Andy M »

I have just bolted the engine into the frame, got rid of the lighting wiring switches etc. Wired up what was left of the wires to the cdi and coil, still no spark. I take it I don't need to worry about the charging / lighting side. Do I need to wire up the kill switch?? Does any one know off hand what needs to be there for sparks only or has anyone got a diagram?? The bike ran well before it was stripped..... :(

Hi Andy, I stripped the light wiring out of my TLR200 not long ago. all that was left was the coil, spark plug, ignition coil, CDI unit, and kill switch. There is a wiring diagram in the Clymer manual for 1981-1984 XR200 which shows this wiring setup. Question - If you don't have a kill switch how do stop the engine. Cheers Ross
