sluggish TY175

Post by wil15424 »

Hi all just another newbie ?? when riding my TY 175 after doing some 1st gear slow work it seems very sluggish & boggy & loaded up when rolling on the throttle but is running fine otherwise.
it idles & revs freely without missing
does it just need it's neck rung to clear the build up or is there a few things I need to check. I recently cleaned carby & air filter. The spark plug had a good brown/tan colour last I checked a few weeks ago Im running 40:1 Castrol tts.

cheers

Possibly float valve passing a little bit causing the fuel level to go high when not much is being consumed - try riding down hill for more than about 20 seconds and see what happens when you open the throttle at the bottom
When you have a look at the float needle, if the part of the taper on the needle that touches the seat looks different to the rest of the taper, it is probably passing
relax, nothing is under control

G'day, Tan is perfect for the plug. Give the exhaust system a good clean out. It will need it by now.

Cheers,

Stork

Thanks David & Stork 955. Yeah David I will check that out in the next few day's & stork 955 I actually took the exhaust off today & was shocked at the weight of it so ,might have to get some heat onto it to burn out the gunk or maybe its just normally heavy ? I hope its full of gunk so it might get a little more response.
cheers
