hi all
picking up a sherco 290 tomorrow and see how slow i can ride after trying to do the opposite for many years. i'm a keen dirt and adventure bike rider but have been inspired by watching a lot of the top enduro riders who came from a trials background.

the last year i've been tackling technical sections on the FE570 in more of a trials approach... slow, balanced, no dabbing. hard to bunny hop a 115kg dirt bike, but it's pretty addictive so thought it was time to make an official move.

very keen to explore the tips on this site and maybe get involved with the logan river mob.

first ever ride of a proper trials bike, the day before i bought my first ever proper trials bike.

inspiring stuff. i've mainly just been trying to ride techical sections without dabbing, and pivot turns that just don't quite work out (e.g. preview pic in vid below) and the water pipes at 2m 40 sec in this vid... in other words not much to show.

but your vid shows there's a world of stuff possible. i'll have to start nailing the techniques on the trials bike then translate them to the berg i guess?

The guys in the vid I posted are those that organize Erzberg. One, Erich Brandauer is an ex Austrian trials champ who did the world championship in the nineties. In spite of his, err, robust build, he's pretty handy on a bike.

yeah i think riding skill will usually trump a robust build!

had an awesome day out today, i think it was my fifth ever trials ride and suddenly making some headway... double blips are fine now, coming to grips with hopping the front wheel around although useless with the rear still, and just started doing that splatter thing on level ground and hopping the rear wheel up in the air. absolutely exhausted though, should have started 30 years ago....
