Trials Helmet

Post by kipo »

Can someone advise me as to what is a good trials helmet and where to get one. Also, I think I read somewhere that some of the trials helmets don't have the Aus Standard sticker, if they don't do they still pass MA rules for competition?

Cheers

Trials bike dealers sell trials helmets.
The best trials helmet is probably the one that fits your head best. Purpose-made trials helmets usually have better ventilation for your head than basic open-face helmets.
Helmets for MA competition use need to meet the standards listed in the MA MOMs, which can be downloaded for free or read on-line.
It has been many years since it was a requirement to have AS1698 certification for trials helmets

bummer, just looked back through your posts and you are in SA. there's a mob here in bris who are clearing out all their stock of trials stuff and i picked up a shiro for $130. but you'll definitely want to try the fit before buying so i'd suggest buy locally.
