It's amazing to me how we rode those things back in the day with handlebars like apehangers and no fingers anywhere near the the clutch, just let out the lever at the start of a section and pull it in when you either stacked or got to the end of the section. I know the clutches were heavy and the bikes were tractors back then which made that the riding style, but it just emphasis's to me how critical line selection was and probably still is for anyone riding these older bikes.

I love the bikes from the '70's, so many to choose from back then and they all looked awesome, some like my Cota 123 were pieces of s--t, but that was a rarity, it wouldn't pull the skin off a rice pudding, it was a POS.

Regret never owning or riding an MAR, they were the best looking bike from the era('72-'74)in my opinion, except for that cucumber muffler. They were overshadowed by the Sherpa -T.

I love reminiscing as i get older, in case that wasn't obvious !.

I remember going to Cedar Glen and watching Mick Andrews do his show. And seeing him ride with no shirt reminds me of this strapping young fella (circa 1974)...

By the way, I wasn't a member of the Rocky Trials club, I just rode in a trial up there while on holidays (and my folks weren't too impressed with having that giant TL250 jammed inside the caravan).

Chris, it was a long while ago but my memory has started telling me things: I think I first saw you ride at a trial at Upper Lacey's Creek on a Cota 172 in B grade in probably 1975 or 1976 and I'm thinking my friend Mark Stephens (RL250) B Grade might have also ridden that day. Please set me straight if I'm remembering wrongly. I can't remember what I was riding - probably trailbike class on an Alpina
I don't remember seeing you ride a TL250 - wow how did you fit that monster into a caravan?
